Hello beauties and happy Monday! I had so much fun over the weekend celebrating Emerson turning one! We had family come to visit and I was so pleased with how her enchanted forest party turned out, I think I’ll do a full post of how I created her party in the coming weeks! But on to the here and now!
I am SO HAPPY to announce I did my first ‘big girl’ blogger collaboration with Chicwish. Y’all I have been shopping Chicwish for years now because their prices are super accessible and the quality of their clothing is always on point. So you can imagine my enthusiasm when the email hit my inbox asking if I’d be interested in teaming up with them–ummm YES PLEASE!
I want to start this by saying I made a solemn promise to myself when I started blogging that should I be lucky enough to have companies want to work with me through my blogging journey that I would only accept working with brands I truly believe in. If I’m not transparent and honest with y’all, why would you bother to stick around or trust what I say? So know that every review I do will be straight forward and genuine…even if it means critiquing a brand. My first priority is building trust with readers and the community I hope to build here.
Fortunately today all I have is high praise! I got several pieces from Chicwish, but this coat was the crown jewel. I have been waiting to pull the trigger on getting a new full length coat for this winter but hadn’t worked up the courage to buy just yet. Y’all I just have to say I am OBSESSED with this coat. Let’s be real for a moment, when you’re looking at coats that are under $200, typically you are sacrificing quality. The fabric feels cheap, sometimes they aren’t even lined, and more often than not they feel lighter and flimsier than their more expensive counterparts. Not the case with this coat, I was blown away with the quality of this piece and can’t get over that this coat is under $120. It is fully lined, it hangs beautifully, and it feels substantial and luxe. When you pick this coat up it has the weight and feel of coats triple the price. I think it is well structured but also comfortable and durable. Most importantly this coat is classic! I love timeless pieces and this fits the bill perfectly. It can stay in your closet for years to come and the black and white plaid print is so versatile.
I styled this look with black jeans, a black turtleneck, and a warm buttery brown belt and shoes. I wanted to keep it classic but also cool and chic. I should mention this coat does come with a belt. I chose to tie it in the back for a relaxed look, but it would also look great letting the belt hang naturally at your sides, or tied at the waist.
Final Thoughts: I cannot recommend this coat enough. If you are in the market for a new coat, this should be at the top of your list. I recently went to Express and saw some really cute plaid coats, but when I went to try them on I was disappointed with the quality of the coat itself. The price point of the Express coat was right around $200 and I just didn’t think it felt or looked like a quality piece up close. On the other hand, this Chicwish coat is almost half the price and has the feel of something expensive and substantial. I give this coat an A+ and my full endorsement. (Side note: I have nothing against Express, I shop them all the time and usually their stuff is great!)
